Wow, that was fast! Heck, the first generation NSX first went into production only about… 17 years ago. And it’s not over yet till we see the actual production version of Honda’s stunning NSX successor. See, the car in the picture is, according to Honda own word’s, “a concept that provides a glimpse at the next generation Acura exotic sports car”. Unfortunately that’s the only thing we know about the unexotically named, Acura “Advanced Sports Car Concept”. We’ll have more on the NSX concept closer to the opening date of the Detroit Show in January.

The Tokyo Auto Salon (12 to 14 January) isn’t only about supped up Nismo 350Zs and Streams. It’s also about those weird Japanese modifiers like the people working at NAT’s (Nihon Automotive College) who took an early 90’s Honda Beat and turned it into “mini-me” version of the Acura / Honda NSX!

Despite what you may think, what you’re looking at the above photo isn’t some sort of a long-wheel base S2000 but, according to the Swedish edition of AMS, a test mule for Honda’s second generation NSX supercar. Caught in action lapping the Nordschleife in Germany, the test car allegedly wears a front mounted V10 engine powering all four wheels -the first generation NSX had a mid-engine (V6), rear-wheel drive layout.

Acura is recalling 43,200 MY 2005-2008 RL passenger vehicles due to a problem in the power-steering hose. Long-lasting high under-hood temperatures may cause the power steering hose to deteriorate prematurely causing the hose to crack and leak power steering fluid. If the power steering fluid leaks onto the hot catalytic converter, that could generate smoke and possibly lead to an under-hood fire. Acura dealers will install a new heat resistant power steering hose.

One of Acura’s main goals for the 2009 RL was to enhance its styling as many people found its design rather bland. Having seen the new RL up close in Chicago, we must say that Acura’s designers didn’t achieve much as the revised model looks no more interesting than its predecessor.

While we where busy snooping around at the Chicago Auto Show, one of our readers sent us these two images of the European spec 2009 Honda Accord loaded on what seems to be a transporter truck. The pictures reveal several details of the 2009 Euro Accord including the rear-end.

Almost simultaneously with the release of the first images and details of the European Honda Accord, Acura let out a teaser picture of the 2009 TSX that will be unveiled at the forthcoming New York Auto Show (March 19th and 20th). As you can see, the only visible difference between the Euro Accord and the TSX is the grille, so if you want to see more Acura’s sedan just click here and use you’re imagination to change the Honda badges.

In a move that further separates the Honda and Acura brands, Rubin Postaer and Associates (RPA), Honda’s official ad agency in the US, has created a unique division for the luxury mark. Acura has already opened a dedicated design center in LA and an R&D center in Japan, so it was only logical that the two brands get separate ad teams. According to Automotive news, Dave Weber has been hired to the newly created position of general manager at RPA’s Acura division.

If you happened to see the 2009 European spec Honda Accord that made its debut at this month’s Geneva Show (if you didn’t, click here), then you’ll be familiar with the 2009 Acura TSX’s appearance as the only differences between the two cars concern the Acura logos and the new front grille. Even though we liked the ’08 TSX’s design, we’re not so sure that we agree with Acura’s evolutionary approach to the 2009 TSX’s styling.

Honda’s premium marque Acura is recalling 273,000 TLs from the 2004 to 2008 model year due to a faulty power steering hose. According to the Japanese carmaker, prolonged high under-hood temperatures may cause the hose to deteriorate prematurely thus leading to a power steering fluid leakage onto the hot catalytic converter.
